Name / ownership gate
Confirming the statement belongs to the applicant.
Name / ownership gate
When an applicant name (and optionally phone) is on record, LoanPilot checks that the statement holder is the applicant before trusting the statement.
The match understands Indian name variation — expanded initials (R. Kumar =
Rajesh Kumar), different order, spelling differences, and honorifics — and uses
the phone only to corroborate.
| Verdict | Effect |
|---|---|
| Match | Statement used normally |
| Mismatch | Sent to manual review — the account may belong to someone else |
| Borderline | Sent to manual review — a person confirms |
| Unverifiable | No applicant name to check against; the gate is skipped |
Strict on a gate it can open
A text pass settles the clear cases; a borderline name may be adjudicated by the AI, which is instructed to answer "same person" only when confident — a shared first name with a different surname stays a mismatch, so the gate isn't lifted on a different person.
The verdict is shown as a badge in the report header (with the reason on hover), and the statement mobile is shown alongside the account details.
