LoanPilot

Bureau & obligations

How the credit bureau and the statement are reconciled into one obligations figure.

Bureau & obligations

LoanPilot merges the loans the credit bureau reports with the loan EMIs seen in the bank statement into one obligations figure that drives FOIR — the bureau is authoritative, and nothing is counted twice.

The merge

  • A loan in both sources is counted once (the bureau amount wins).
  • A loan on the bureau only is included.
  • A loan in the statement only is added and flagged hidden — a possible undisclosed obligation to verify.

An unnamed statement EMI is merged onto a bureau loan only on an unambiguous, tight amount match. If several bureau loans are similarly close, or the match is loose, the statement loan is counted on top rather than fused — the safe, over-counting direction (never hide a real debt).

Hybrid, token-aware matching

A cheap text pass settles the clear cases with zero LLM tokens; only genuinely ambiguous lender pairs go to the AI, batched into a single call. With AI off, a deterministic fallback keeps loans separate and never blocks.

Derogatory marks

Written-off accounts, suit-filed accounts and 90+ days-past-due are deterministic knockouts: they always send the file to manual review — both through the engine's default rules and a guard in the decision layer, so a derogatory file is never auto-approved.

The reconciled obligations breakdown (bureau vs statement totals, hidden loans) is shown on the Decision tab.
