LoanPilot

Credit rules engine

Your team's scoring brain — configurable, versioned rules per loan product.

Credit rules engine

The rules engine is where your team defines how a statement becomes a score and a decision. It is per team and per loan product, and every change is versioned.

Scoring only

These rules decide the score and decision. Every signal LoanPilot detects is always shown in the report regardless of the rules.

Rules

A ruleset is made of two kinds of rule:

  • Parameters — named policy values: FOIR, minimum approve/conditional score, interest rate, tenure, ABB cover, bureau weight, and so on.
  • Conditions — signal → action: e.g. bureau shows a written-off account → send to manual review, or gambling detected → flag.

Each rule has:

  • On / off — a toggle (mandatory safety rules are always on and can't be disabled).
  • Value — editable, unless the platform locked it. Numeric values can be amount-tiered.
  • A "Changed" badge — shows when you've moved a rule off its shipped default.

Actions a condition can take: send to manual review, decline, adjust the score, or flag for the officer. The engine applies condition knockouts as a stricter-only overlay — a rule can send an approval to review or decline, but can never loosen a decision.

Add your own rule

Build a rule from any detected signal — including AI-detected scenarios like medical spend, liquor or gambling. Pick the signal, a comparison, a value and an action. Custom rules you add can be removed; shipped defaults and parameters cannot.

Versioning

Every edit, add, remove or reset publishes a new immutable version and bumps the version label (v1.0.0 → v1.0.1 …), shown on the product. The version that scored an analysis is recorded in its decision trace.

Reset

Reset restores a product to its shipped default ruleset (behind a confirm). It is itself a new version, so you can always see what changed.
